This is one of the greatest Hulk stories ever told. If you thought you understood the Hulk and you haven’t read this story. You need to get acquainted with the Green Goliath. The story that was originally brought to us by Greg Pak (writer), and various artist is now coming to DVD and Blu-ray. If you have a Blu-ray player and haven’t bought a cartoon yet. This story is worth every once of data on that hi-def disc. It had been some time since I read a Hulk comic. And everyone was raving about the Planet Hulk story line. I waited for the collection. Best hard cover comic I ever bought. The aliens he meets. The fighting. His new love. And a little surprise. about the Hulk and Banners relationship. It was all just perfect. Buy it on Blu-ray February 2010.

And don’t forget to pick up your Planet Hulk statue from Bowen Designs.

PostHeaderIcon Comic Book Movies: The Black Panther

I happen to be surfing the net and caught a whiff of  HOT GARBAGE. Apparently everyone is hyped to see a Black Panther movie. Especially actor Adewale Akinnuoy-Agbaje. (Lost, Oz, G.I. Joe). He’s awesome. He’s African-American. And he has the perfect accent. So What’s wrong. Well, can he carry a film as a leading male? I don’t have that much faith in him. For one of the few African-American super heroes, we need some real SUPER STAR power. Now is the time when everyone is like ,”Then who?” I have two actors that have the acting chops as well as the charisma to bring this film to box office gold.

Adewale Akinnuoy-Agbaje

Morris Chestnut: Not the rock n roll actor you thought  I’d pick was it? Everything about him sings of the Black Panther. Style, intelligence, mannerism, and that kingly air that is T’Challa. Because really….. anybody can wear the suit. But what you need is an actor that conveys that hero presence without the uniform. Which brings me to my second choice.

Derek Luke : Such a phenomenal actor. Even better than Chestnut. Luke gives the performance of a life time every single time. You feel him. And understand his characters. You know, plus all the physical stuff.

The Black Panther isn’t similar any one super hero. But more of an amalgam of different heroes. A detective like Batman. A fighting patriot as Captain America is. And a scientist similar Marvels half dozen scientific heroes, if not on a genius level. And you need an actor that can do that as well as wear the costume.

With Reginald Hudlin writing and maybe directing the Black Panther could be a sure hit. I’d also recommend Antoine Fuqua to direct.  And if handled correctly, YES we could see him in an Avengers movie. Part 2, part 3, whatever. It is possible. Marvel just has to do the right thing. The same as they’ve done with Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk. And it all started with a good director and a good cast. The Black Panther should be treated like the King he is. Go all out and you’ll get greatness in return. Guaranteed.

PostHeaderIcon X-Men Origins Wolverine DVD

No Gravatar

wolverineblurayNot the greatest super hero film. But far from the worst of them. This movie made it  because of Hugh Jackman. He IS Wolverine. A better actor playing Gambit (with a stronger accent and nicer clothes) would have been welcome. Gambit is my all time favorite X-Man. The movie also could have done without Ryan Reynolds. His Deadpool was luke warm. Had no flavor what so ever. He’s a traitor anyway. Let him go run to DC and ruin there movies. Any way I will definately be picking the old super healing mutant myself. And everything looks better in Blu ray. Look for X-Men Origins Wolverine in stores on September 15.

PostHeaderIcon Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 2

theclonewarsposter2008Personally I love the Clone Wars. It was quite refreshing to see the Star Wars characters in a more exciting atmosphere. I know everyone is tired of this and wants Lucas to move away from it. But he does seem to be doing a good job. bring more depth to the Clone conflict. Season 2 looks like it will just as cool. The western bounty hunter, a “love interest” for Obi Wan, and more Force fighting. The only thing I could ask for is maybe some characters from the Star Wars Republic comic. Like Quinlan Vos. He is just an amazing guy. Hands down one of my favorite Jedi. Besides that more Mace Windu of course.quinlan-vos

the_force_unleashed

Truly one of the more fun Star wars games that I’ve played. The Force Unleashed gave us a cool story. A character that fit quite nicely into the star wars universe. And the most awesome Force abilities. Now Lucas Arts is going to give us the Ultimate Sith Edition and the story line is called”Infinities”. With new downloadable content. One new mission, the Hoth level will come boxed with the Sith Edition of the Force Unleashed. It will also hold both the Coruscant, and Tatooine missions. On top of all that. A new Tatooine mission where you confront Boba Fett, and Obi Wan Kenobi will be available for download. This is going to be for both PS3, and Xbox 360. And will be available this holiday season.

PostHeaderIcon Tron Legacy Teaser

Many of you are too young to remember Tron. But for the old guys like myself, it was the coolest thing ever. What movie ever had it that you could go inside a video game. None. The story seemed a little weird . But I was young. And Jeff Bridges was just one of those cool “grown up” actors that we all wanted to see. I’m glad too see that this is going to be a sequel of sorts. This little teaser makes the original graphics look like Lego’s. Well not that bad.
