From Heroes To Icons has been through the ringer this week. I believe that We here at FHTI have been a victim of Internet Sabotage. We were accused of internet high jacking and malware pirating. This caused us to be put on a Spam Black list. That shut us down for longer than it really needed to be. So after many emails and phone calls. And nearly pulling an all nighter, J Paul and myself resolved the matter.

From Heroes to Icons has moved. And our house looks the same. Thank God it wasn’t as terrible as I thought. Truly I believed the website was finished. But here we stand. Again after what seemed to be our final downfall. It turned out to be  just another hurdle thrown in the way of our slow but steady success. We are here to bring news to the people by the people.

There seems to be a ton of news rolling all over the place. Again I apologize for the shut down. We will do all that is in our power to continue to bring the best in all entertainment news to you.

It really is the worst to be Blacklisted. And especially when you are really not to blame. So without further to do……….. LET’S DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a a PlayStation Move for Christmas. Let the Jingle Bells Rock.

There is much debate over the television show Heroes from NBC. One thing is clear. And that is the story had no true end. Here at FHTI I will attempt to give you my own conclusion to the series. I have had some cool ideas of how the series should have ended. And needless to say it had little to do with any type of carnival or having Sylar turn to a good guy. We all have our own opinions. Some may have thought the show did no wrong. While other thought differently. This is Heroes Season 5 Volume 6: A Brave New World. 2 hour movie

Change is inevitable. We Grow. We Learn. We Evolve. The Most Ordinary People, Discovering They Can Do The Most Extraordinary Things. The World Has Become An Amazing And More Dangerous Place. All That We Know Is At An End. Yet, We Find Hope. It’s A Brave New World.

After Claire’s insane reveal to the local news of her abilities, many of our “heroes” go underground. HRG does what he does best. Protect Claire by any means necessary. With the help of Angelia Petrelli, HRG and Claire are brought into government protective custody. Once again working for the government they are tasked with finding others to join the cause, of creating “stability” between humans and specials. HRG agrees but Claire is now his new partner. Her “Company Training” begins.Tracy Strauss and The Haitian also work with HRG, as shadow agents. Meaning the government doesn’t know of her involvement.

Samuel is taken in to custody. Of course he will be the prime test subject. Most of the carnival specials find a way to make a new life. Many are brought in by HRG and his New Company. Hiro and Ando head back to Japan. They hope to use there powers in secret. Shutting down their little heroes for hire building. Although things are going well for them Hiro worries about the other. Especially Peter and Sylar. Hiro’s sister disappears and Ando takes it upon himself to find her……without Hiro’s help. With no one else to turn to Hiro teleports back to ancient Japan to visit Yaiko.

Meanwhile Peter Petrelli visits his mother to discuss what will happen now that Claire has outed them all. Angela is finished explaining things to Peter. He must grow up and move beyond Nathans shadow. “Nathan is dead. And you are the only man left in the Petrelli family now. Grow up, Peter. And fast. Or we’ll all soon be dead.” Angela presses him to take control of himself and his abilities. “You are the only one who can stop what is to come.” Furious Peter departs. Teleporting from the home he once grew up in. And Angela cries silently not knowing if she has sent her last son to his destiny or his death.

Matt Parkman is the first to be recruited by HRG. The New York detective will make a great asset to his new team. With mind reading and manipulation Parkman will keep the government officials in place while the New Company works. Having worked with HRG on a few occasions, Parkman is worried he will be forced to do something he will soon regret. But it’s better to have more control by working for the Company. That will keep his family safe. He hopes.

Gabriel Grey…..that is what he has been calling himself these past few months. It’s hard to think that he can go back to his old life again. He was given another chance. HGR had told him, “Go back to your old life, Sylar. You can still fix watches, can’t you?! It would be unfortunate to have another incident, don’t you agree?” He was given a bank card and all the help needed to open a new clock repair shop. Very upscale. As Gabriel looks out onto the streets of Manhattan,fondling the glasses he no longer really needed,  he could still hear the low ticking that has always been in sync with the beat of his heart. He knows how things work. The Power. The Hunger. But he was Gabriel Grey again. Despite that, the ticking of his mind was not off set by the ticking of the many clocks and watches of his shop. He stared out at the city and knew that eventually, someone would come. To seek power. To control it. Or to try and destroy it. It was only a matter of TIME.

Micah Sanders stands in his new apartment looking over the various monitor screens that make up more than half the space of the over-sized loft. The quiet hum of computers is the only sound in the room. He watches. His teammates of Rebel. He watches. All of the specials he has been able to track down. He watches. The New Company as they begin to round up other specials. Recruiting some. Incarcerating much more. Few actually go free. But they are set free. Micah knows not to get involved. Team Rebel has it’s own goals. Noah Bennett(HRG) contacted him recently. Rebel would be a way of  keeping a small number of specials out of government hands. Save them and ask them  to join to help others like themselves. Unlike the New Company, Rebel only asked. If they declined they were given a new identity, and asked to make themselves scarce. Micah thought, “I’m the Special Harriet Tubman. She probably was a special also. Who knew????” But he had other problems. Ando had gone on a rescue mission, alone. And Hiro had disappeared, again. Team Rebel had their own hands full. And his cousin Monica pretty much took care of New Orleans by herself. If only he could find Peter Petrelli. He was like Sylar. But a good guy. A real Hero. So many powers in one person. He could send him to help Ando. Again, if  he could find him. Micah called out into the air,” Angela Petrelli”. Somewhere in the room a phone dialed. He thought to himself,”Who needs a bluetooth”.

Nothing can stop Claire Bennett. With a body that will repair from virtually any wound, she becomes a machine of fear and balance in the hands of HRG. Even though he hates having her fight by his side, she’s a great weapon. Noah continues to train her. With guns and small arms. Close quarters combat and knife training. And of course her favorite. Demolition. She pretty much becomes a Kamikazi. She has become hardened by her training and the dozen or so missions she’s been on. But Claire does fear for her father. He’s not powerless, but…….. After an intense sparring session Clarie meets HRG in the New Company ready room. Nothing more than a room filled with a huge 10 foot monitor with a ever moving digital map. Tables over flowing with boxes of files. A few desks with computers and a bulletin board with hundreds of faces on it. Some crossed out. HRG waits for her,alone. “Claire, I hope you had a good work because you’re not going to like this”, Noah says. “I never will like it, dad. Who’s the victim this time?” The monitor switches from map display to a file read out with various pictures of one person. Peter Petrelli.  Claire knows what Peter is capable of. She knows that in reality she has no choice. Why does it always come back to him.? All he ever wanted to do was help people. But it was her job to help the world. Not just one person at a time. Keep the balance between the specials and the regular population settled. Looking at the monitor and her father she says, “What about Sylar? Isn’t he the real threat.” Noah says nothing. They’ve gone through this before. His answer has and always will be the same. Even though this time it is different. Finally Claire says is, “How many powers does he have”? Noah turns the monitor off and walks toward the exit. ” He can only have one ability a time. Shouldn’t be any problem at all. You know he would never hurt his niece.” She glares at him, but remains silent. “Sometimes”, she thought. “I really do hate him”.

Peter Petrelli had no idea what to do. “As usual”, he thought to himself. Back in his apartment, still fuming over his mothers words Peter sat down and just thought. Of Everything. “These powers, what good are they? Every time I try do something courageous or good it always turns out wrong. Powers I have no knowledge of. Or can’t control. Exploding in New York. Being tricked by Adam Monroe. Jumping through time and losing Caitlin. Caitlin!??!“ After all this time. Peter remembers the one person that stood with him and never wanted to do anything but love him. “How could I have forgotten her?!? Adam. The Shante Virus. The return of my thought dead father. Being stripped of my powers. Only having to give my self the shot to save Nathan. Now I can only use one ability at a time. Nathan’s dead. Sylar gets a new lease on life. Claire has let the world know about us. And my mother, trying to manipulate me again. Maybe this time she was right.” He didn’t believe her. He was always weak. Always looking for someone to lead him. Tell him what to do. “Maybe Claude could help me get the answers.” Lost in thought he did not hear the foot steps near his door. Or see the three red dots trained on him. But he felt the sharp pain of the darts that pierced his arm, leg and neck. The last thing Peter remembers are the men in black masks with rifles and stun batons. And the exploding pain as electricity raced through him, until he fell into the blackness of unconsciousness.

There is something in all of us, that reaches for the “All Powerful”. The Legendary. The Heroic. Hero worship in all it’s various forms has always been a part of our society. For every race. For every age. For every culture.We all have our favorites. And we have all at one time wished of being one our selves. It doesn’t matter where you come from. What language you speak. Or how old you are. From the beginning of story telling in caves, there have been heroes.

Over here at From Heroes To Icons,we only want to have fun. To allow your imaginations to run free. To enjoy hero worship in all it’s glory. Here you can be who you really are. Love all those geeky, nerdy things that you know you love. You’re sitting in front of a computer. No one can bother us about our hobbies now. Sit back. Relax. Do you like super heroes? Cool! Do you like cartoons and anime? Great! Are you addicted to video games? Fantastic. All that and more is here and right at your finger tips. We the crew at FHTI are here to let you know about all that and more. All the things that keep us Old guys young. Super Heroes. Action Heroes. And we can’t forget any guys favorite. Heroines.

We are not building articles at this site to offend anyone. It’s all good clean fun. It’s for EVERYONE. Yes, including me. FHTI is made by the people. For the people. Just us non profit guys having a good old time, hashing it out about thew things we love the most. HEROES. Everything we post is for the knowledge and enjoyment of the different things we blog about. We let you know how it really is. We don’t do this because we’re paid for it. We don’t get paid for it. We do it, because we love it.

All my life I’ve been fascinated with nearly every type of adventuring hero. Old school stuff like, Sinbad, Jason and the Argonauts, Zorro and the Lone Ranger. Super heroes such as Spider-Man, Hulk, Batman and the Justice League. Video game characters; Samus from Metroid, Nathan Hale of Resistance and all the great characters of the Final Fantasy series. As I broaden my scope for entertainment, I discovered the wonder of martial arts films and anime. Following the adventures of Wing Chun and Ip Man. Watching young heroes fight for family and justice. The Elric brothers of Fullmetal Alchemist. Or the kids from Neon Genesis Evangelion. All these larger than life characters that are so human. The women my daughters can look to. Wonder Woman, Lara Croft and Storm. There are so many you can’t name them all.

I love this crazy world of Fantasy and Science Fiction. The world that we live in is crazy enough. We all need a break every so often. And that is why I have decided to create this little blog. Who can say that they didn’t cry when William Wallce screamed freedom as he lay dying? Whose heart didn’t bleed when Obiwan had to cut down Anakin? Who didn’t fell satisfied when Red XIII and his cubs ran to the mountain, after the credits of Final Fantasy VII? This is what FHTI is all about. This is what heroes are all about.

There is one thing binds these individuals together. They do not stand for just themselves. Not just one person. Not just one people. Or one country. Or one time period. But they stand for all of us. For anyone who has felt oppression and sought freedom. For all those who can not stand for themselves. That is what these heroes are about. And that is what we have forgotten. Regardless of Race. Culture. Or Origin. Heroes were meant to inspire. To give hope. And to have us look into ourselves, to find some of that hero in us. The books we read. The films and TV shows we watch. The anime and cartoons we enjoy. The hero is all compassing. He/She can be anyone. Anything.  Heroes are about sacrifice. About the struggle. About redemption. The heroes journey is what we love. The places they go. The friends the meet. The enemies they vanquish. The power of a hero is not in what nationality he/she is. But what they stand for. And what they accomplish. Only when a hero doubts himself. Makes mistakes. Fails. Only then, when they overcome all that has pushed them down. After the Crucible. Only at the precipice, when all is lost does a hero; a man/woman truly become a hero. And when they have done the impossible time and again. That is what makes them an Icon.

I hope that you will continue this journey with us. There are so many stories to be told. And so many to share. Thank you all.

I was once one of the biggest fans of this show. Pulled in by the characters. The superb writing. And strong sense of direction the series had. After four years the show has now become a great disappointment. The writers have abandoned the mythos of the show. There is little in the way of continuity. And character development is non existent.

Can anyone even remember when Future Hiro first Peter on the subway train, with the message “Save The Cheerleader. Save The World.” Whatever happened to the intrigue of being hunted. The survival of keeping your secrets. “Are You On The List.” Where is the gathering of all these strangers in one place united for one moment with one purpose. “How Do You Stop An Exploding Man?” This is the foundation that Heroes was built on. Many of you didn’t like season 2. I myself loved it. Even though it was cut short by the writer’s strike. Tim Kring and his writer’s were able to bring that season to a very nice close with an awesome cliffhanger. If you bought the DVD or Bluray (Same on you if you didn’t) you know that Tim Kring had a ton of things he wanted to do. But alas that was cut short. Some of those ideas never saw their way on to the show, even though they could have.

Season 3 started in a sprint to the finish line. Villains seem to be just what the doctor ordered to bring Heroes back from the stab in the back that the writers strike gave it. It had just enough of everything to make the show what we always enjoyed in season  1.Villains had been well thought out almost perfectly to the end. The death of the God like Author Petrelli was a mild disappointment. I mean if he really had to die, well ok. Just kill him and be done with it. Now is when you think the show will take another turn. heading in a new direction that is sure to stun all fans. But it seems that not only have the writer’s forgotten to step back into continuity. They also assume that their audience is plain stupid. I mean, Heroes fiction is strongly based on comic books and science. Fictional or other wise. Why would they thing no one saw the light leave Author Petrelli’s body. And what energy transference. Peter got NOTHING from his father after he died. Yet he was standing right over his body. Okay you can hide from that with all the subtly of a Rhino. But I can still see the mistakes. But now after he injects himself with the formula he can only hold one power at a time. Peter gets weaker and even more uncertain of himself. All the while Sylar turns into Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet. Peter as a character just doesn’t grow. As well as other characters.

Will Heroes end now. Season 4 is over. And thank God for that. This has to be the worst season ever. Nearly everything that has gone on this year was terrible. I just think Tim Kring gave up on the show. My friends and I believe he’s just biding his time until his contract wears off. Heroes could have been another 24 or Lost. Now it will just die off. Hardly a memory in the minds of fans. And I say good riddance, Especially because our idea of A Brave New World was stolen. And not only was it stolen. It was done poorly at best. I knew a guy that always said “You can’t win them all”. But Heroes was a winner. I refuse to let the show go out like that. I will write my own little season 5 right here. Join me as I finish Heroes my way. NBC has done a bad enough job already. And it’ll be fun. These stories will be just little ideas of what I would like to see. And how I would have ended Heroes. The stories will be small. Just enough to get the point across. Look for them every 2 weeks or so. It’ll be one heck of a ride.

Every thing that has a beginning has an end. And this will be my ending.  Join me as I dream and write of a Heroes that could have been.
