This world is filled with uncertainty. Nothing is written in stone. We hesitate . We doubt ourselves. Making mistakes that change our entire lives forever. Deep down inside, we wish to make up for all those faults. To rectify the mistakes we’ve made. All we’re looking for is a Second chance.

Tiffany Collins loves her mother. She took care of her, her entire life. So when Tiffany’s mother grew sick, she did everything in her power to help her. But all to often that just wasn’t enough. The 25 year old stands at her mothers side alone. There is no one here to console her. No one to help ease the pain. No one to help shoulder the anguish of what she now faces. Tiffany Collins mother is dead. And she wish she was too. It was never the money for the hospital bill. Or the mortgage. Or the car insurance. She didn’t mind that at all. It was the loneliness. The empty house she would continually come home to. The endless nightmares. And the voices that would never stop calling to her. At the hospital the voices seemed to fade. As if her sickly mother could banish them. Now that her mom was gone all she had left now were the voices. And they were of no comfort at all.

Angela Petrelli enters the headquarters of  The New Company, suffering from jet lag and insomnia. “I’m regally too old for this nonsense”, she thought. “But he is my son. It is always a mothers responsibility to take care of her children”. The Dream. Always the same dream. Since Peter stormed out, every time she closes her eyes, it never changes. For nearly 3 weeks now. That horrible dream never changing, never varying. ALWAYS EXACTLY THE SAME!!! Peter dying. All Angela wanted from him was to be a man. To be the hero he desired to be. But for that she had to let him go. Loose the apron strings. Never had she thought he would be racing to his death. The attendant at the front desk is a Special of course. “Noah Bennett please”, she asked very politely. Although she was not feeling very polite. Asking for permission to see the man she once set to task. In the old days that would never have happened. Then again a great many things would never have happened in the old days. Angela was irate by the time Tracey Strauss had finally come to greet her. “Sorry for the delay, Mrs. Petrelli. We’re all trying to adjust to things over hear.” Angela smiled. “Glad to see someone around here has maintained a little respect for me. What is going on that I must wait like an outsider?” Tracey did not like being sent to get Angela Petrelli. The woman was still way too influential in the Company. And far wiser than most gave her credit for. “There was a meeting that Noah didn’t want interrupted before we finished.” Before Angela could retort Tracey added, “It has to do with Peter”. She was afraid of this. Would HRG and his New Company be the death of her last son? She said nothing. Neither did she let it show on her face that she was afraid. The “War Room” is nothing like shes ever seen. That Micha Sanders is a wonder. If he was her son she would be very proud indeed. Aside from all the electronic grandeur she was taken aback at how organized everyone seemed to be. “Trying to adjust to things, she thought!?!?!?“ Tracey can lie as well as any politician. “I really do like her”. Angela was roused out of her thoughts by HRG. “Angela we need to find Peter”, he demanded. Noah has rarely ever shown tact. Something Angela has always admired about him. “Always straight to point with you Noah”, Angela calmly said, taking in all the people occupying the war room. Noah Bennett, Renee The Haitian, Tracey Strauss, her granddaughter Claire and surprisingly, Matt Parkman. Ignoring HRG’s barrage of inquires she turns to Claire. ” Hello dear”, she said in her most grandmotherly voice. “Television doesn’t suit you”. Looking past her back to HRG, “You’re too late. He’s gone. And soon he’ll be dead.” She said that a bit too matter-of-factly. “What have you seen, Angela!?!?. What are you hiding”,exclaimed Noah?!??! A woman that has never been intimidated by any man, she asked Claire “Would you be a doll and pour your grandmother some coffee. I haven’t been sleeping very much lately.” Always pressing to the point, but not totally uncaring. HRG says “Is he dead already?” Locking eyes with him, voice steady. ” Not yet. But nothing can stop it.” ” Molly……”, HRG starts. Angela holds up a hand halting him. Still holding his gaze. “This is what you wanted??” she said mockingly. “Isn’t it”. Claire walks out not even waiting to hear her father’s answer. Noah Bennett is more than the sum of his experiences. All that he is. He’ll always be a father first. He looks down at Angela. “We’ll find him. Dead or alive.”

Lateness is of no consequence to a young boy that can travel faster than anything he’s ever heard of. His mother and father are not comfortable with his”ability” to move at such speeds. But they’ve learned to accept it. Some kids are smart. Some are superb athletes. And some are artistically or musically talented. Joshua Evans is fast. He can run fast. His reflexes are fast. And he can even think fast. Well, as much as any thirteen year old boy thinks. That is to say not much at all. His super speed is only slowed by his even quicker metabolism. Joshua needs to eat. Constantly. Waking up, running through the shower and breakfast. He plays video games up to 25 seconds until the homeroom bell rings for school. After a few tries he figured out it takes only 25 seconds to get to school from his house. Seven miles in 25 seconds. He loves his life. But not for long. Micha has kept a tab on this kid for over a year now. After Peter disappeared he began to check up on all the “Specials” he’s found. But especially on those with metabolic abilities. Joshua’s enhanced metabolism makes him a prime target to geneticists. It’s a good thing he has one to call on himself. And he’s right in New York. Mohinder Suresh won’t have any trouble getting to Long Island. “I just hope he’s not too late”, Micha thought.

Dr. Suresh is a man of science. He choose to believe in his father’s work and finish what his father had started. “If my father could see me now”, Mohinder thought. After being exposed to the world, many of the specials went into hiding. Trying to have as normal a life as they could. Mohinder went back to his roots. That of a doctor and scientist. He would do as his father once tried. To help these individuals and understand what these abilities were all about. He refused to work for Noah Bennet. Their last partnering did not end well. But he had found a way to put both his mind and his ability to good use. Micha Sanders had a group of heroes Known as REBEL. Mohinder was not a member, but he would help as only he could. As a doctor. Micha had called him about a boy named Joshua. A speedster similar to Daphne in speed but evolved some how. Joshua had gotten into the sights of the Company. And there was no telling where that road would end. “Probably with the boy dead”, Mohinder grumbled under his breath. Long Island was very different from New York City. Quiet, despite the amount of people and traffic. Joshua lived in Amityville. A suburb town like any other he had visited. Busy. With mainly African Americans. That made him think of Monica Dawson. “No time for that. Keep your mind on the job. Find the boy first and Noah will back off. At least that’s what Micha believes”. The Company and REBEL had an understanding. Mohinder could not bring himself to understand this relationship. But it did keep Bennet on his toes. Some one needed to keep him check. The train station was small and open. Mohinder made a small circuit around the area. A diner and laundromat on the street in front of the train station. A Walgreen’s across the street. Joshua passed Walgreen’s every day on his way to school. Mohinder might be able to intercept him there. With his heightened reflexes and stamina may be able to hold off the agents of the Company long enough for Joshua to get away. If there weren’t any specials with them. “Not a chance of that” , he thought.

Once across the street in front of Walgreen’s he had a good position to survey the surrounding area. That’s when Mohinder spotted the vans. One white and the other navy blue. Nothing to mark them as suspicious, except they were parked directly across the street from him. The white van on his far left. The navy blue van to his far right. Everyone seemed to be going about their business save for a man and woman who talked together directly across from him. Turning  to look into the parking lot of the pharmacy another van, white with a man on his cell phone leaning on the vehicle. “Perfect, I’m pinned. No doubt there here to grab the boy.”  Looking at his watch, 7:40. Four minutes and thirty-five seconds until Joshua runs by. “I have no choice”, Mohinder said aloud walking toward the white van. With lightning reflexes and enough strength for six men Mohinder subdues the man with the cell phone before he has a chance to pull his gun. Now it was time to deal will the rest. Too late!! As Mohinder turned to face the other two vans, the man and woman who were across the street now stood in his path. The man’s eyes shown with a blueish white light  through his shades. The woman just stood by his side. The man in jeans and a plaid polo shirt obviously had some sort of energy projection ability. The woman dressed in a pants suit was the muscle, “She reminds me of Nikkie” he thought quickly. Before either could act, Mohinder moved. Swiftly and strategically. Not knowing if his super strength was enough to confront the woman head on Mohinder attacked the man first. With a punch to the stomach and palm thrust to the chin, Mohinder grabbed the man by his hair spun him around ripping off his shades. A blue and white light shot from the company man’s eyes driving straight into his partner. That bolt of light slammed the unsuspecting woman into the van across the street. Both of them were down but the blue and white vans had several men with guns baring down on Mohinder. Exposed, he had no way of escape. Shots rang out and dozens of bullets propelled toward Mohinder. Just as he thought he would soon see his father, the shooting stopped, and he was unharmed. In front of of him was a young boy in blue jeans and a red and white jersey with an Indian on it. Warriors was written on the back. He wore a beguiling grin with a mischievous light in his eyes. “Snap out of it dude”, the boy yelled. “It ain’t over yet”. “Joshua”, Mohinder questioned? For an answer all Mohinder received was a shake of the boy’s head and the most spectacular sight he’s ever beheld. Joshua seemed to be in front of him, then beside an agent then everywhere at once. Moving so fast he left only a vague after image and a slight breeze.  Then it was over. All the other agents disarmed and unconscious. Joshua stood behind Mohinder, laughing. “I guess you needed my help more, than I needed yours”? “This young man handles himself quite well”, Mohinder thought. All that had transpired took only a moment. And the entire situation had turned on it’s head. “Nothing will ever change. This is what I trying to avoid”. Joshua only smiled. The light in his young eyes held so much promise. Mohinder saw the hope in Joshua that he knew lived in only one man. Peter Petrelli.  “Come on“, Joshua said pulling Mohinder out of his thoughts. “Micha’s waiting for us”. Joshua remained unfazed by the entire event. “Only twelve years old and he thinks himself a real life superhero”, Mohinder pondered. “There is more to this Joshua Evans than what was told to me. Micha has much to answer for. Much“!

No one came to the funeral. And there was no one at the grave site. Tiffany is alone, save for the hundreds of corpses which lay in the surrounding grave yard.  Now that her mother was dead she did not know what to do with herself. The voices that her mothers presence kept at bay haunts her, night and day. They wouldn’t stop. Even when she is asleep. Tiffany thought coming back to her grave would lend some solace to the voices she heard. It only seemed to get worse. Calling her by name. Begging to be free. Begging for guidance. An unending chorus of wailing voices crying to be released. Tiffany though see knew the truth. “The dead are talking to me”, she said to herself. As unreal as it sounds that could be the only truth. Hear at her mothers grave sight the voices seem to sing to her. Calling out to her as an old friend. “I’m cursed”, she said crying into her hands. Wishing that she was no longer alone would change nothing. She was sure of that. But the ground trembled under her bend form as Tiffany continued to cry.

Noah Bennet was a man on a mission. A man used to getting what he wanted. Today he did not get what he wanted. The super speedster from Long Island had gotten the drop on his men. With a little help from Dr. Suresh. “Well you can’t win them all, Noah thought. For him it was not about numbers that mattered. it was the quality of the catch. Joshua Evans was average. All of his abilities could be found in another special. No big lose there. The problem was that Micha had some how recruited the boy without him knowing. “Two can play that game Mr. Sanders. And I’ve been playing this game much longer than you have”. The War Room held only three people. Claire, Tracey and the Haitian. “What do you have for me”, HRG asked? Tell me something good. Claire at the computer terminal didn’t respond. She just hit a few keys and let the screen do the talking. Turning to the other two in the room, HRG began. “This is Tiffany Collins. Twenty-seven year old single African American female. To the average person she seems to be of no threat. her powers laid dormant until her mother’s recent death”. The look Claire gave her father said it all. Yes Claire it is to be believed that Tiffany and her mother were linked some how. What ever that link was is gone. And has made this girl a very large threat”. Looking at the three in the room, HRG didn’t bat an eye. In a tone that sounded as if he were still a paper sales man he says, “Micha CAN NOT have this one”. All that was well and good, but Claire was still too green to understand. “What makes her so dangerous? We’ve never even had a file on this girl. Why her? Why now?”  This was not the time for questions. Noah clenched his teeth. Nothing would end Claire’s questioning except the truth. “But she really never likes hearing the truth”, HRG thought. breathing heavily Noah continued. ” Tiffany Collins is a Class 1 threat level. A danger to the entire planet. If her powers go unchecked it will be disastrous.” He knew it wasn’t enough for her. Claire just stared at him until he finished. “From what I we could gather Ms. Collins has the ability to raise the dead”. Noah didn’t have to say anymore. Tracey seemed colder if that were possible. Renee whispered a soft prayer. And Claire said, “She can make zombies”?! When she said it like that HRG found it hard to believe also. but what he feared was an army of undead specials running wild. And only this emotionally disturbed girl could stop them if she even knew how. That he could not allow. “Tracy, Renee you two will apprehend Ms. Collins. Claire will be with me for the extraction. Let’s try not to kill her”. With that said they all set to their tasks. Claire Bennet still unsure of how she felt about capturing people like herself. but to be an agent of the Company and her fathers partner you have to deal with the hard choices.

Walking through a grave yard in the middle of the night chasing a woman that could potentially call the dead back to life was not the most inviting of plans. Tracey Strauss decided to become apart of the Company just to be on the safe side. Claire’s little show on live television had changed everything. Matt Parkman couldn’t mind zap an entire nation. So HRG planned to have what he called the only way out. Work with the government to keep the populace secure. No one wanted the Specials running amok. And it would take Specials to catch and hold Specials. The government agreed. No one wanted the incident repeated by Danko. So here she was with the ever silent Haitian tracking down a would be necromancer. “Great”, she thought! “This is creepy enough without Renee playing the silent partner”. She turned her head to look at him. The Haitian inclined his head in acknowledgement to her. Serious to a fault. Renee would have to halt her abilities and drive her unconscious. But first they had to get close to her. Noah had warned them. ” When you come upon her, watch for any strong emotional responses. It may trigger her ability. And the Haitian may not be strong enough to keep her blocked”. “Sure”, Tracey said to herself. “Sent us off to face Night of the Living Dead, while you sit and watch”. The Haitian looked at her so hard it drove her to silence. Just ahead of them Tracey could make out a form kneeling in front of a head stone. Renee motioned her to stop. To each side of her be hind they both stood. The Haitian called out to Tiffany. “We are here to help you”, he said gently. “Come with us and we will help you stop the pain”. Silence. No response. Renee could tell she was still alive. Her body moved slightly and the immense aura of power flowed off of her in waves. He gave  Tracey a strained look. “Well maybe a woman’s voice would be better”, she said to herself. before Tracey could say anything, Tiffany spoke. Her voice sounding as if she had cried for some time and had nothing to drink. Tiffany half turned the moon light catching er features. Haggard and drawn in. Her face was creased with dirt stained tears. Her clothing matted with grass and fresh dirt. Tiffany had knelt here for days. “Help me”, she asked in a voice nearly to low to be heard? “Everything is fine now. They said it was time to set them free. And when they are free, they would be with me just like mother was”. I didn’t understand then but now I do”. Tiffany’s voice trembled with excitement. Tracey and the Haitian knew their time was short. As Tiffany spoke the ground shook. “I will never be alone. I will always have them with me, she said. Lumbering to her feet Renee and Tracey tried to move nearer to subdue her but they were too late. Sounding like death itself, her voice sore from tears and lack of hydration. Tiffany screamed, NEVER ALONE:!!!!!!!! The dead rose springing up from ever grave in the cemetery, grabbing and clawing at Tracey and the Haitian surrounding them. “Great plan Noah”, Tracey said sarcastically. The Haitian gives Tracey a level gaze. Then with a grim smile on his face speaks. “Let’s try not to kill her he says”. And all hell breaks loose………………………………………………………….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
