Heroes is back. And it is looking like they are truly trying to redeem themselves. With a 2 hour premiere kicking of season 4, volume 5, NBC seems to have gone back to the basics with everything. A strong reestablishing of the core characters. And a great introduction of the carnival supers. The intro monologue gave a good representation of what this volume should be about. “Redemption”

We love Peter. And finally he seems to be headed in the direction that was set up in season 1. Helping people is he always wanted to do. Now he is slowly and most positivly doing just that. When asked to help HRG, Peter only wants to know what power the enemy had. Does Peter at last have his original power back?! Can he possess multiple abilities at once?! Well that did look like a super powered throw to me. Only time will tell.

The emergence of Sylars powers is great. “Nathan” has no idea what’s going on. And Angela Petrelli is scared out of her mind. It was a nice touch to see that Sylar’s persona wasn’t just erased, put was actually transfered to Matt. Now Parkman must deal with having Sylar in his mind. And the only way to get rid of him is to put him back in his own body. Also any man would have given the pool guy the whammy. Sylar is awesome inside of Matt’s mind. The devilish antagonising was brilliantly done. I can’t wait to see more.

My man HRG has broght the Haitian back. It’s good to have that old team together again. Noah seems to be looking for that right super powered partner. Has he found it in the Ice Queen Tracy Strauss? Maybe. I am glad that Danko is dead. It should have happened last season. But the mind wipe and mureder was just right. Mama Bennett has a boyfriend? HRG seemed pretty down in the dumps about that. The Carnival will keep him busy. Claire’s life is too normal. She can’t stop from hurling herself from buldings. Hate her new friend. Can anyone say VILLIIAN. Can’t wait to see how that turns out.

Hiro and Ando are still comic relief. Can’t say I’m pleased with that. But with Samuel manipulating Hiro we can expect to see something very bad, or very dark happen to Hiro. It’s really about time that Hiro and Peter start to grab hold of thier destiny.

The Carnival guys are more than I thought they would be. I would guess nearly everyone in it has an ability. Samuel is after some big time revenge. And is looking to recruit some of the shows most powerful cast. I really don’t think that will end well for him. Considering how our Heroes got manipulated last season. And that was only six weeks ago. In story time.

All and all I was quite pleased how this season has started. If they keep up the momentum that has begun with these first episodes, the next sixteen will be very good. Stay tuned for the review of next weeks episode “Ink”.
