DC Comic List For Wednesday 01/12/11 (Thursday If You Got Hit By The Storm)
As you know, for a lot of us on the east coast, new releases were pushed to Thursday. My picks are Batgirl#17, Batman And Robin#19, Birds Of Prey#8, Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors#6, Justice League: Generation Lost#17, Red Robin#19, Superman#707, and don’t forget what should have been last week’s Secret Six#29 (the conclusion to their cameo in the last Action Comics). For some reason DC usually has one title mistakenly put on the list a week ahead of time. Such a tease! Happy Reading.

DC Comic List For Wednesday 01/05/11
Hello there, fellow geeks! If you take offense to that, then your New Year’s resolution should be to take yourself less seriously! This week seems pretty light. I did notice that they are starting their special logo covers. What new titles do you plan on picking up for the new year? DC‘s resolution (or promise, since resolutions never last) should be to cut back on Bat-books. I plan on putting some titles down. I already reluctantly quit Zatanna and Legion Of Superheroes just to keep up with the Caped Crusader. I was toying with picking up JLA and Titans again. Bah! This week is Azrael, Batman Beyond, Brightest Day, Secret Six and possibly Steel for me.

DC Comic List For Wednesday 12/15/10 (And The DCU Beta)
What’s up, boys and girls? Did you get all your Christmas shopping done? Me either! Anyone get into the DC Universe Online Beta? I did! Look for me in there (I’m Hawk Knight for now). I like the mechanics. The menus are a little disorienting at first. The graphics, though, and the customization are awesome (You can choose from a great deal of body types, outfits, powers, personality, and even your mentor). However, it took like six hours to load and by the time I got to play I was already really tired, so when I arrived in the huge JLA satellite I became very lost and consfused trying to find my way back to the Gotham City teleport. That’s when I turned the console off. Guess I’ll figure it out tomorrow. I’m just happy to be able to fully experience it after years of waiting and anticipation(and drooling over it at the conventions).
As for tomorrow’s comics, I’m going to pick up Batman, Batman And Robin, Brightest Day and Green Lantern, to name a few. Cheers!

DC Comic List For Thursday 12/2/10
Hey guys. Sorry I haven’t been up to much on the site lately. I’ve been working on some writing (and just plain working) for the last few weeks. The least I can do on my downtime is bestow the handy dandy weekly DC list on you, so you can figure out what you want ahead of time. As for last week’s comics, I wasn’t so impressed by Batman and Robin#17. Going back further (over the last few months) I’d have to say the book I’ve been most disappointed with is Batman Odyssey. Having grown up pretty much idolizing Neal Adams, I was really looking forward to this one for a while–especially when he showed me the sketches he was working on for it two Big Apple Cons ago. Maybe it’s the writing that is throwing me off. I grew so used to Denny O’Neil (his long time collaborator at DC Comics) being the words behind the drawings. I guess that was what I was expecting. Instead, this time around, the dialogue feels very choppy/spotty and does not show the fluid motion that moved his partner’s storytelling along. I hate to stop collecting a run half way through, but I almost feel this one might be much better suited to read straight through in trade form. Don’t quote me on that though. What are your thoughts on this?
What I did enjoy last week was Detective#871, Batwoman #0, Green Arrow#6, and Justice League: Generation Lost#14(another cool future story). I’m fixing on getting the Batman 80-Page Giant 2010, Brightest Day#15, and Secret Six#28 this time around. Don’t forget that comic day was bumped over to Thursday due to the holiday!

DC Comic List For Wednesday 11/03/10
What’s up, friends? I don’t know about you, but I can tell you what I’m picking up tomorrow. Being that the last three issues of Batman And Robin have been nothing short of epic, I will start there. This (Batman And Robin #16) is the finale we have all been waiting for…Batman VS The Black Glove. The events from R.I.P. and The Return of Bruce Wayne tie into this issue. Frazer Irving, sadly, finishes his run here. He gets some help this time around from the talented Cameron Stewart (who has already had his hand in this title). I must say, I am hoping to see a showdown between Professor Pyg and The Joker. As harsh of a critic I might have been on Grant Morrison’s Bat-run, I will sorely miss him here. B&R was his saving grace. Awesome work, you nut job (and I mean that in the best of ways)!
Howard Chaykin’s Batman/Catwoman: Follow The Money One-Shot will be purchased on general principle, out of respect for the man alone. Now we come to Brightest Day #13. As much as I would love to take a break from these endless DC spanning events, I have enjoyed this title (for the most part). This time, the cover of the latest issue should be enough to draw anyone in. Drawn by David Finch, it is a beautiful picture of a White Lantern Dark Knight. That’s right! It is what appears to be Bruce Wayne Batman bathed in white from head to toe! How awesome would it be if he was the life-giving chosen one?
The only other ones I plan on snatching up this week are Red Hood: Lost Days #6 (the conclusion of Judd Winick’s origin story of Jason Todd/Red Hood) and Secret Six #27. I’m glad for a light week, finally! I Hope this was helpful. Happy reading, folks!

This is the last wednesday before the summer draws to a close (although I looks as if the weather thinks it already did). Make the most of it! sit outside in the sun and read a comic. just don’t let the heat curl your pages! Might I recommend Azrael#12, Batman Beyond#4, Birds Of Prey#5 and of course Brightest Day#10? Looks like I just did.

My definite picks for this week? Red Hood#4 and Brightest Day#9. And on the Dark horse tip; be sure to get your fix in the lapses between Hellboy and B.P.R.D., by continuing to follow Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden’s creation Baltimore: The Plague Ships. It features the fantastic art of Ben Stenbeck. Also, make sure to pick up the third and final issue of Hellboy: The Storm. This long awaited follow up to the arc Mignola and Fegredo started with Darkness Calls and The Wild Hunt will conclude with another 3 issue series entitled The Fury.
Baltimore: The Plague Ships #2

Exciting David Finch Cover From Brightest Day #13
Thank you, Kevin, for bringing this to my attention! This is what looks to be White Lantern Batman. Judging from the belt buckle and gauntlets alone I’d say it’s Bruce rather than Dick, but what does it mean?
Feel free to discuss!—ExSleepyInk
DC Comic List for Wednesday 08/18/10
Figured I’d get the list up a little earlier for you guys. Be sure to click on the title for the synopsis and picture on DC’s website. I was starting to lose interest in Azrael, but last week’s issue (featuring the new creative team of David Hine and Guillem March) hinted towards a new promising run, and it might be worth picking up this week. Be sure to pick up Streets of Gotham which is shedding more light into the past and on the Wayne’s relationship with the Elliot’s (Hush’s parents). It includes a Two-Face second feature; which for some reason is longer than the main House of Hush story. I found that kind of weird. Don’t forget to follow the DCU’s search for the White Lantern in the next Brightest Day.
And for those of you that haven’t had the sense to know what is good for you (I’ve been laying it on pretty heavy), please pick up this bargain comic. It’s a reprint of the first Hellboy. You have to get started somewhere!
