Delay For DCUO
We’ve all been waiting with bated breath to get our grubby little hands on the game come November 2 (I had my fund saved up and everything, for crap’s sake), but DC Universe Online producer Wes Yanagi wants us to know that the game’s delay into 2011 ”will pay off”.
“With the delay and expanding beta, it will give us a chance to test and scale our servers and take feedback from the players so we can deliver a killer experience when the servers go live,” Yanagi explained.
Supposedly those who pre-order the game before November 15 (in the states), will attain beta access by November 30. ”players with VIP key cards (given out at the Comic Con) and those having registered at the DCUO website will receive access on a priority basis starting as early as next week.”
I got to try out the game (and received a cool lanyard and invite to the special DCUO event for it!) at the DC booth on the first day at NYCC. It was an Amusement Mile sequence where you need to save Robin, who has been captured by The Joker’s minions. You fight Harley in the end. You are able to fully customize your character, good or bad, and are given a host of special moves. What sets this game apart from some other MMO’s is the frantic hack/slash gameplay (instead of going the turn based route). I dig that, especially for the PS3.
I missed the DCUO event with Jim Lee that guaranteed me a pin for the PC, but having already signed up on the site twice (a little overzealous?) I hope to be part of the testing team. This way I could get my fix after waiting for this game’s release for years. Johns and Lee are two of the busiest people in comics, and a driving creative force in the game, so I guess the seemingly constant push back is kind of understandable. I’d rather a game with all the kinks worked out, anyway. I believe it was actually two winters ago already that I was able to test out the Battle For Star Labs sequence. Jeez. Talk about a wait…not to mention a tease. Perhaps this will give them time to reward us PS3 owners with a Collector’s Edition as well. Come on, what’s the deal with that!?
Once I get this new camera working and connected (no SD slot on my laptop for some reason), I will get up the video i took of a woman giving a walkthrough of a specific area of the game while a fan got a hands-on experience.

DC Comics List For Wedneday 10/06/10 (NYCC Week!!!)
The week is finally upon us! Come friday the geeky madness and splendor of the New York Comic Con goes into full swing at the Jacob Javits Center! We hope to see all of you there. This thing looks to be the best yet. There will be plenty of panels and screenings to immerse yourself in, all the artists, writers and creators you could possibly ever want to meet, and endless scantily clad girls in super heroine costumes (or guys if that’s your thing)! Oh yeah, I almost forgot BRUCE CAMPBELL!! Better buckle down and get started on some last minute comic reading so you’re in the know on the latest storylines, and don’t sound like a bumbling idiot trying to talk through troves of nerds and the insuing nerdage they bathe in. Or, if you’re not going and you just need a respite from your work week. After all, tomorrow ist Mittwoch (that’s wednesday in German…who said we’re not worldly here at FHTI?), the highlight of a geek’s week. All of those who will be at the Con, be sure to check out my good pal and cowriter David V. Mammina‘s table. You can find him on the show exclusives list and locate his table number in the program(be aware that they sometimes change). He will be displaying and selling his books, doing free signings, and have concept art available(for a small donation). If you see me through all the mayhem, I would be glad to sign his book Paltronis. I did the illustrations. Have a great one boys and girls!!
Vertigo
WildStorm
Per usual, be sure to check out my Dark Horse selection (Mignola of course).
Baltimore: The Plague Ships #3
Happy reading!

2010 New York Comic Con Guests and Artists
With only a little over a month left until zero hour, I know everyone is gearing up for what should hopefully be the best NYCC to date!
If you’re like me, the tension is building. Will you get the chance to chat up all your favorite creators? Will you get all the sketches you’ve been dreaming of year round? (Better get there early–with enough money– if you want one from an artist like Brian Bolland, and be ready to possibly come back another day). Are you going to shake hands with Bruce Campbell, or get a photo-0p with Katee Sackhoff? It’s enough to keep you in a panic attack for days! I know I’m already digging out all of the comics I want signed and writing myself a
memo of all the artists I’m dying to have draw in my sketchpad. I’d like you to be able to do the same, so I did some research. Get a pen and paper ready! Some of the keystone guests are Stan Lee and John Romita Sr and Jr. Others include Geoff Johns, Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee, David Finch, Brian Michael Bendis, J. Michael Straczynski, Adam, Andy, and Joe Kubert, Chris Claremont, Darwyn Cooke, Tony Daniel, Joe Quesada, Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Geof Darrow, Dan Didio, Matt Fraction, Adam Hughes, Mark Morales, Michael Golden, Bob Layton, Dustin Nguyen, Greg Pak, Peter Tomasi, and much much more! Be sure to also check out one of my best friends, David V Mammina, who will have a table showcasing his four novels (one of which I did some sketches for). He is a dedicated writer of mostly dark fantasy, and a very humble guy. We will be covering the event, so if you see our badges, come up and say hi. We’d love to see you all! The 2010 NYCC is October 8th through the 10th (That’s friday through sunday, folks!). Below is a list of who you will find in my favorite place, Artist Alley.

The Walking Dead Trailer
This is the first trailer for the AMC original The Walking Dead, based on Robert Kirkman comic. This is the trailer shown to those lucky enough to be at this years Comic-Con.
The show has some of the best makeup effects and some terrific actors, two pretty good ingredients for a good show. I will defiantly be giving this show the once over.
The Walking Dead premiere Halloween night, October 31 at 10 PM on AMC.
