First look at the upcoming DVD ‘Batman: Year One’ based on the comic of the same name by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli.

Batman: Year One stars the voices of Bryan Cranston and Eliza Dushku. It can be yours on October 18, 2011.

Man of Steel is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. It hits theaters on June 14, 2013.

I really can’t say that I’m waiting with baited breath for this. The biggest Summer disappointment this year. All we can hope for are some awesome special features. But isn’t everything supposed to be better on blu-ray!?!?!? Well I may be pushing it this time. Hey maybe it wasn’t as bad as I thought. We’ll see on October 14th if anyone buys it.

SYNOPSIS

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, an elite, powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. Warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him the ability to create anything his mind can imagine. The extended cut will be in hi-definition on the Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack only.

On October 14th, “Green Lantern” extended cut can be purchased for permanent download and the theatrical film can be rented on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game consoles.

Brand new pics from the set of the Man of Steel. We get our first full frontal of the suit and we can see it is closer to the New 52 relaunch comic version with no red shorts. By the way Cavill’s workout gets a thumbs up, he fit the bill perfectly, at least from a distance.

Zack Snyder is not holding back in getting all the A-List actors to surround Henry Cavill in the upcoming Man of Steel film. Russell Crowe joins them as Superman’s biological father Jor-El. I personally think Snyder is a genius. He makes movies for movie goers. Not withstanding his films are very artsy. The stories are compelling and his characters are phenomenal. He’s not afraid of pushing all the boundaries of film making. If anyone is leery of Cavill as the new Man Of Steel, check out the trailer for Immortals. And watch the Tudors. He’ll make an awe inspiring Superman. Especially with Snyder at the helm.

Green Lantern is directed by Martin Campbell and stars Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. It drops on June 17th, 2011.

Next week is going to rock. And is this game.

Recently, that is yesterday DC comics announced that 52 titles will start over from #1. This starts ion August 31. The first title to begin this massive restart will be Justice League with the creative team of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee.

It seems that the two DC powerhouses are going to show the comic industry how to do it right. Both Johns and Lee hold executive positions at DC Entertainment. Now they will continue the jobs that made them so famous. Personally this title will be something big. Apparently the Flashpoint titles and storyline will pave the way for this ultimate end of the entire Crisis storyline that started in the 80′s. Maybe. But if you ever thought about reading comics or have fallen off, (like myself). This August is REALLY the best time to get into DC Comics. And you could always pick up the trade paperback of Flashpoint later. Here is an excerpt from various spots that were able to speak with the big wigs at DC.

Also if look closely at this JLA picture by Jim Lee, you will see that everyone with a collar has the “V” neck. Ryan Reynolds also has the same collar in the up coming Green Lantern film. Any connection!?!?!? Who knows!?!?!

“On Wednesday, August 31st, DC Comics will launch a historic renumbering of the entire DC Universe line of comic books with 52 first issues, including the release of Justice League by New York Times bestselling writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and bestselling artist and DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee. The publication of Justice League issue 1 will launch day-and-date digital publishing for all these ongoing titles, making DC Comics the first of the two major American publishers to release all of its superhero comic book titles digitally the same day as in print.
