What A 9 Million Budget Boost Does For The Green Lantern!?!?!?!?
I’m at a total loss. It was reported that Warner Brothers gave the Green Lantern film another 9 million dollars for special effects. What does that mean? The movie is going to look even better than we all believed. You be the Judge. With this latest trailer we are given the full power of the Ring of Power. IAnd here I thought I saw that on the WonderCon Trailer. Maybe you can see the difference. But to tell the truth I can’t tell the difference. But no doubt you’ll be able to see the glory of all the CGI on bluray. Although in this trailer you can hear the difference. all the speaking parts and sound effects are perfect. Green Lanterns Light, baby.
Green Lantern: GL Corp Movie Banners
I do believe that Green Lantern will be a comic film to enjoy and remember. Here we have hal Jordan the “STAR” Green Lantern of the film along side some other members of the Corp. Someone PLEASE tell me WHY everyones uniform looks better the Hal Jordans!?!?!?!?!?!? DC and Warner Brothers really need to learn about showmanship. The star ALWAYS looks the best.

The Prodigal Son Returns…Well, At Least To The Site
Hello, Old Friends! Remember me? If not, I don’t blame you; I’ve been gone for quite a bit. Why the long absence, you ask? Me and my love have relocated to the Florida Keys (Vaca in the islands of Marathon to be exact). It wasn’t our first choice by any means, but we were hard-pressed to find a better deal on such short notice. For that, and all the metaphorical clamor and noise that moving brings, I would like to dedicate my first article back to my girlfriend Kristen. Though my body may be in paradise (although during the long, arduous work-week my mind may not feel that way) my heart still beats on New York time. Have no fear, I still get my comics delivered from my hometown comic shop. That means reviews will be up shortly. I would like to offer a big heartfelt ”thank you” to my mother for shipping them during this big transition. It has definitely helped.
In the meantime I have been reading two big events that have started in the vast DCU: Reign of Doomsday and War of The Green Lanterns. The first is ok, but it is our emerald-clad friends that seem to be literally shining right off of the bat! Without giving too much away (sort-of-spoiler), it centers around Krona taking the entities of the emotional spectrum hostage, therefore having power over the various corps. And, as if they couldn’t pick a worse time, the gaurdians have charged the alpha lanterns with capturing Hal Jordan, whom they view to be uncontrollable and unstable. We’ve also learned more about the secret origin of the Manhunter’s destruction of a whole civilization, and The Green Lantern itself. To top it off, guess who is back to dwelling in the main power battery!! Two words: IMPURITY RESTORED. Pick it up! It is on it’s third issue (going from Green Lantern to Corps to Emerald Warriors). It looks like it is surely set not to disappoint like…well…everything else under the Lantern umbrella in the last few years. Thanks Johns and Tomasi!!
Well, I have so much to talk about in the realm of funny books (including the awesome expanding Mignolaverse) and the blitz of media entertainment it brings with it, but for now that will have to wait until next time.
Missed you, my fellow diehard fans!
P.S. I am a DC.

DC Entertainment is on fire. The way they bring these DVD animated films out one after another is amazing. Green Lantern Emerald Knights will be released June.
You won’t want to miss it.
New Green Lantern Pics
Check out some pics form the upcoming Green Lantern Movie. Green Lanterns Tomar-Re and Sinestro. I will let the suits go for now, other than that, It’s like they jumped straight out of the comics. The job on Mark Strong turning him into Sinestro is amazing.

DC Comic List For Wednesday 12/29/10
So, it’s the last wednesday before the new year (hope you’re holidays were unstressful and spent happily with family and friends). What were some of your favorite comic reads and moments of 2010? I’d have to say Blackest Night/Brightest Day and Hellboy/B.P.R.D. What is the character and book you’ve been most loyal to, even through the toughest times? Sadly, my favorite character: Batman. Let’s hope this year is better, because I’m not too sure I like the whole Incorporated thing as of yet. We could also stand to get rid of a few Bat-titles. Don’t punish us common folk for having a favorite character during tough economic times. You guys are starting to act like scheming villains; exploiting our weakness for your gain. Through all of this, however, I did love what Morrison did with his exciting Batman And Robin run. So, there’s that.
My picks this week are Batman: The Dark Knight#1 (yet another title), Detective Comics#872, Flash#8, Gotham City Sirens#18, Green Arrow#7 and Green Lantern#61. Aside from the DC titles, I’d like to also suggest Hellboy: The Sleeping And The Dead. This latest adventure for the big, red, man-demon is a classic vampire tale, and the first time out-and-about in the Mignolaverse for awesome artist Scott Hampton. After Alexander’s work on Abe Sapien: The Drowning, this should be a great fit for Hellboy. Don’t miss out! Pick it up! If there is one resolution you should stick to this year, it is becoming a diehard fan of whatever Mignola puts out there.
